(25/08/17) Why EVS ?

        WHY EVS ?

In July 2017, I had the chance to participate to an Ka1 project organised by Erasmus+.
It was for me an big discover because i had never heard about "Erasmus+", Salto or Evs... If you're like me Erasmus+ is another part of the Erasmus program financed by the European Union for students exchanges, but the mission of Erasmus+ is concentrate on the non formal education and open for everyone. They finance many programs and one called Ka1 for Key Action 1 it's about mobility project for teachers, youthworkers, educators... and organise by many organisation in Europe.
This one was organise by the SNJ (service national jeunesse) au Luxembourg, the title was "makerspace in digital youthwork". Before this training, i was really stressed because i had never speak english before... so during the long traveling by bus i watched a lot of TED talks to prepare my brain to switch in english. The first day was the presentation stand in front of every one and it was really hard for me, but it was really good to listen others presentation because each participant was skilled, interested with diferent passions.
Each participant was diferent but with somes common basics and the same idea of sharing, so for the second day we was between friends. During this week the program prepare by the SNJ take place in the Base1 makerspace in Luxembourg city, an crazy big an fancy makerspace, so we learned how to use many tools like Tinkercad for 3d modeling, Scratch an software for coding, Play with mbot an little robot, how to use CNC laser cutter, soldering electronic components and many other activity...
Ok for the introduction, but you wait for the EVS part... you're not patient ! So during this i met some interesting people and one girl from Poland, Beata ;-) offer me to take part of an EVS to is place for helping them to develop an new makerspace in a village. I was really involved in different organisation in France, Fablab Pau and Digijeunes so i told her, i'm glad but... I don't have enough time for that...

End...

It was possibele to be the end but after this week we kept contact with many others participants and during this time i have about this proposition... because i fact i was working with two frenchs organisation but... not to much physicaly because i was on another work project so my contribution to them was more short in time physic and more on computer... and i told me.. why you decline ? many people offer me job in different in France or Europe many good experience but i declined all the time by fear... so stupid.
And some days after Beata called me at 11pm in "panic", and told me "one of our Evs left and we need soemone around Toulouse for replace i have 3 days for find him/her"... I was tired and watching Netflix so i just answered "oh if you're in bad situation i can come", "OK"
The last day she told me everything it's ok with the sending organisation you just to sign somes paper have meeting with them and go. see you in one month ! SO.... ok, i was spending holidays to my mother's place and the day after i told her i go in Poland for do an EVS...

"Sorry son... You know there is a lot of snow in Poland..."
